- 9h: Departure from the old Port of Cannes with the Trans Côte d’Azur ferry - Free time in the morning: beach, walking on the trails, visit the Royal Fort.

- 12h: Welcome cocktail at the Royal Fort.

- 12h30: Festive barbecue.

- 14h15: Paddle tour to discover the island’s coastlines.

- 16h45: Snack at the Batéguier Point.

- 17h or 18h: Departure from the Island back to Cannes.

National Archaeology Day

As part of the Cultural and scientific meetings that have taken place since 2010, this day aims to inform the public about the richness and diversity of French archaeological treasures. Passionate about history? Come discover the secrets of our history and archaeological research!

Cannes Jeunesse, in partnership with the Direction de la Culture of the City of Cannes, have organized an exceptional programme to discover the little known 2000 year history of Sainte Marguerite Island.

Invitation

This is an out of the ordinary visit reserved exclusively for guests of the CIS Lérins Islands of Cannes Jeunesse.
This is a free visit limited to 25 participants.

Itinerary

Meeting point at 17h30 at the Pointe du Dragon (about 30 minutes walk from the CIS)
Return at 19h00 at the same place.

Visit of: Cannonball oven – Spanish remains – Bateguier Tower – Sainte Anne Tower – Roman remains - Necropolis

 

Your guides:

  • 1 Official from the cultural departure of the city of Cannes
  • 1 Animator from CIS Iles de Lérins of Cannes Jeunesse.

As part of the International Day of Museums, Cannes Jeunesse, in partnership with the Direction de la Culture of the City of Cannes, organize an exceptional nocturnal visit.

Equipped with flashlights you will plunge into a unique and friendly atmosphere to discover the richness of the Royal Fort on Sainte Marguerite Island.

Meeting point at 20h45 on the Bazaine Terrace at the fort. Return at 21h45 at the same place.
Visit of: Bazaine Terrace, Museum, Bastion Richelieu, Porte Royale and the Contrescarpe.
