MAN IN THE IRON MASK. A SECRET OF STATE

Exhibition dedicated to the famous « Man in the Iron Mask » a mysterious character who was imprisoned for 11 years on Ste Marguerite Island (1687 – 1698), in a prison cell constructed to keep his identity secret.

At the Museum of the Sea on the Island of Sainte Marguerite


Jason DeCaires Taylor (Born in 1974 ) is a sculptor, environmentalist and professional underwater photographer.

Jason DeCaires Taylor is famously known for his sculpturing, spanning several continents and predominately exploring submerged and tidal marine environments.

For the first time in France, the Musée de la Mer presents Jason DeCaires Taylor’s dramatic images, which capture the metamorphosing effects of the ocean on his evolving sculptures.

Opening hours:

June to September: Every day from 10 am to 5:45 pm

October: Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 am to 1:15 pm and from 2:15 pm to 4:45 pm
